Clean Drinking Water for Wat Sri Don Chai School

Three Rotary clubs, two countries, one school

Safe water, handed over

On Friday 30 October 2026, our President, Dr Jean-Pierre Verbiest, joined Rotarians from Japan and Chiang Mai at Wat Sri Don Chai School in Sarapee District to hand over a new clean drinking water system. Funded by the Rotary Club of Bangkok Foundation and the Rotary Club of Tokyo Shintoshin, with the support of the Rotary Club of Sarapee, the system gives the school's 135 pupils and 18 staff safe water every day, and water to take home to their families.

Farewell to a great gentleman of our club

It is with deep sorrow that the Rotary Club of Bangkok marks the passing of Past District Governor General Saiyud Kerdphol at the age of 104. A former Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, he first joined our club in 1969, served as our President in 1984-85 and as District Governor in 1991-92. He was the last of our club's Past District Governors and one of the finest gentlemen ever to wear the Rotary wheel. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Rotarian Eva Maria degli Albizi, and all of his family.

We Sponsor Four Students to RYLA 2026

PATHUM THANI, 23 to 25 October 2026. Our club sponsored four secondary school students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) 2026, organised by Rotary District 3350 at Pine Resort, Pathum Thani. They joined 280 students aged 14 to 18, supported by 76 Rotary clubs across the district, for three days of leadership training, teamwork and new friendships.

Rotary Club of Bangkok Meets the Thai Red Cross to Explore Working Together

Bangkok, 20 October 2026. Our President, Dr Jean-Pierre Verbiest, President-Elect Khun Kitima Sirichai and Rotarian Dr Rapeephan Maude visited the Thai Red Cross Headquarters on Henri Dunant Road to meet senior leaders of the Thai Red Cross Relief and Community Health Bureau. The aim was to learn about each other's community service work and explore how we might join hands. The meeting was extremely informative, and both sides agreed there is much potential to work together in the future.

Protecting Bangkok's flood shelters against dengue

Rotary Club of Bangkok Delivers Mosquito Repellent to Bangkok Flood Shelters as Dengue Risk Rises

BANGKOK, 6 October 2026. The Rotary Club of Bangkok today handed over 9,000 sachets of mosquito repellent to the Health Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to protect people living and working in the city’s temporary flood shelters against dengue fever. It is the first support from the club’s RCB Bangkok Flood Emergency Fund, set up on 27 September as the floodwaters rose, and it went from request to delivery in a matter of days.
